Buying Quality Marble: 3 Types of Marble That Will Impress

It’s time to seize an opportunity for home improvement. While you’re spending time staying healthy with your household, take a look around your home.

Is your kitchen backsplash out of date? How about your counters? Do you have luxe tiles in your bathroom?

There are so many opportunities to renovate even if you live in a beautiful, modern house. Using stone such as quality marble and granite to update your home is a good quick renovation.

If you’re new to the idea of updating living spaces using stone, don’t worry. Here are three options for beautifying living spaces with marble.

1. Classic Marble Stone From Italy

Anyone who’s taken a moment to look into kinds of quality marble and granite for home design has heard of Carrara marble (also known as Carrera marble). A more specific name for the stone famous on housing shows is Bianco Carrara.

This kind of marble hails from the Carrara quarries in Italy’s Tosco-Emilian Apennines. It’s a favorite recommendation of many luxe stone fabricators and interior designers.

“Bianco” in the stone’s name refers to its white color, and it features gray veins. Some varieties of Bianco Carrara are grayer than others due to various degrees of veining.

It’s a beautiful marble and a wonderful choice for many home projects, but a lot of why it’s so beloved is due to tradition. One of the most famous uses of Carrara marble is in Michelangelo’s statue, David.

2. Try Marble With an Artistic Look

If you want a white base but gray veins are a little bit plain for you, check out Bianco Lasa. This white marble is set apart by its thick black veining. The black veins look a lot like paint splashes, so it’s a perfect marble for bold and creative types.

This is another Italian marble, which comes from mines in the Dolomites.

3. Quality Marble Comes From Spain, Too

Many kinds of marble favored in interior design are Italian in origin. Yet, beautiful marble comes from all over the world, as fabricators like AA Marble & Granite would have you know.

Spain has some of the most beautiful marble available, such as Macael White.

As the name suggests, it’s a variety of white marble. It has some gray, but the white and shades of light gray blend into one another. As a result, it has a smooth and soft look.

Macael White’s relationship to Spain is like the relationship of Carrara marble to Italy. The silky, rich look of this stone makes it perfect for structures of distinction. One example is that the unknown sculptor who made the famed 11th century Lion Fountain in Granada, Spain, used Macael White.
